Congratulations to the 2011 Texas Tar Wars Poster Contest winner, Hady H. of Houston, Texas, a fifth grader at Crockett Elementary. Hernandez’s poster, “Hang Tough, Don’t Puff” was selected for the grand prize from many entries by a panel of Texas Academy of Family Physcians (TAFP) members. Her message reinforces the anti-smoking mission supported by Tar Wars and the Academy.

The goal of PRC 6 is to increase the effectiveness and visibility of prevention education materials and resources, within the region through information dissemination, community education, identification of community resources and to coordinate minors and tobacco strategies within the state. Each PRC in the State of Texas serves as a regional prevention materials clearinghouse.
